Serving Our World, together with those who have a heart to reach individuals and families in great need in rural and remote locations is bringing hope and joy to children and families.
As you review our projects you will see that our goals are to rescue children at risk, to aid and help widows, single parents and struggling families. Each day many are faced with countless obstacles and only as we work together, individuals, business owners and those that have a desire to make a difference, are we seeing lasting hope as we help build for a new future.
East Timor
Serving Our World hosted the first ever Olympic games in East Timor and the results were thrilling! This event reached seven different mountain villages where an estimated 20,000 people live! East Timor, although a small country, has experienced a great deal of violence such as fighting and gang related rioting. But as a result of Serving Our World’s presence, people were brought together in a positive way, supporting the restoration of communities, giving hope.
Here are the comments made by the president of the district, “The work of Serving Our World has really benefited our children, giving them education and meals, reaching out to our youth. The Olympics is bringing unity, peace and friendship, encouraging us to love each other as brothers and sisters. We are all working hard, we have hope for the future of Liquedoe Community again, I want to say thank you.”
This wonderful event opened so many doors and has affected all age groups, helping malnourished children and widows in need. Our desire is to impact lives for a lifetime! We strive to connect families and people with a higher calling and purpose. Our goal is to show them the ultimate love available to them as we offer a new way of living to those who have been neglected.
We are very excited to be able to offer opportunities like this, which help to restore peace to those living in fear and desperation. In remote areas like this, one out of every five children dies before living to celebrate their 5th birthday due to lack of proper food and medical care. We believe we can change that statistic. We know, with your help we can certainly make life better for those innocent children who don’t receive basic necessities of life. Thailand
Each child stands at an intersection, one road leads down a path to sexual exploitation where the dreams of young children are lost in the horrors of greed, abuse and modern day slavery, as girls as young as 8 years old and up are forced into the unimaginable, the sex trade.
Down another road children are given a future with hope as they participate in the everyday activities at our Good Life Home. These children are reaching towards their dreams, with opportunities available for them, recognizing that goals can be set and reached, daring to dream for a better tomorrow. There is joy on their faces as they prepare lessons and learn skills needed to build a transforming future.
So what influences their direction? 
It is the intersection! At this critical time of their lives, you and I stand together, directing them to a better way-- the way made possible because we are there to show them and provide an alternative. For us, it is unthinkable that a small child should be forced or tricked into the horrors of child prostitution. Once down that road, their lives are destroyed, and all hope of a meaningful, fulfilled life is gone.
